'Till Bodies Touch

by Kourosh Taheri-Golvarzi

Thou witching woman, catching me in thy
Beguiling spell, I long to taste thy touch
Again, abask in our communal sigh,
A breath unique. We harbour now as such
Some distance 'twixt us we have not forgot
And it remembereth us so. Canst thou
Not hasten thine arrival as we're caught
In lust and love although we wonder how?
In praise of hedonism shall we quaff
In days and nights to come. Our knowing this
Allayeth our reunion just enough
To give us company until we kiss.
And yet, 'till thou art here to love me true,
Another cigarette shall have to do.

Author's Note: Inspired by a wonderfully marvelous, beautiful Turkish girl whose arrival, at the time of my writing this, I'm anxiously awaiting.

Very romantic and sensual. Written in Shakespearian style.

And wonderfully rendered. The choice of archaic language gives it an even stronger presence. Brilliant ending.
