On Saying Hello by Joe CramerIt has been a long time since we have spoken
I wonder if I somehow became broken
in sharing my feelings for you or anyone else for that matter
all my heart did was to break, then to shatter
as there are always more pieces to a broken heart
than there is to a whole one, but I start
to drift, to sputter, to digress
and you, of course, know far to well the rest.
I always long to share every feeling that I hold
far to much for anyone to handle, if I can be so bold.
So I retreat, I always run and hide,
scared to death of love, my eyes open wide.
It has been a long time since I heard from you,
you left me, yet I still miss you, it's true.
Now I will just hide behind these words, my feeling
always leaves my heart forlorn, reeling. 09/19/1983 Author's Note: ... I found this one in an old book, I was using the penned poem as a bookmark....

| Posted by George Hoerner on 03/12/14 at 12:58 AM So glad you found it. I believe it shows what a lover of life and people you as you can love one you can love another and are willing to share your feelings which is what we must all share to be part of the human community. We must love it and hold it near with all its flaws. We start with one person and if that some how becomes lost we step back hurt and it can take a while to become whole enough to try again and again until we become accepted by someone how understands our flaws are every bit as much part of us as anything else including our heart. Really nice write! |
