Pour Moi

by Joe Cramer

I know you
pen words for me
it's as easy
to see
as the nose
on my face,
that trace
of being and nothing
that leaves me
looking for meaning
inbetween the lines
amongst the lies
of what is truth
and what remains fallacy.

I rant, I rave
I cave
in to the notion
of what we once had.
I am still sad
over the outcome
and what could have been
a friendship
for the ages.
My rages leave
this course of action
coarse,
without direction
or affection
for that matter.
Instead, I pen an Ode
trying to explain
what is
and what is not.
(Never mind what will be.)

I just feel better
knowing that you're there
and I'm here
and there's nothing
inbetween.
So I guess this is all
pour moi.

Nevermind...

Having written a similar themed piece this week, I feel you. Unfortunately, as much as we wish it not to be, these things are for the best. :/ That said, wonderful poem!

I like the flow to this, the quick rhymes inserted here and there, some fine phrasing.
