Can you hear me? by Dorian BlackCan you hear me,
beneath the woolen sheets of misery?
In disarray,
leaving my dreams to be splay;
spreading my visions apart
to pick apart
my tormented heart.
Can you hear me,
drenched in this mystery?
When I whispered in your ear
that the devil was near;
a constant reminder
of everything I fear.
Can you hear me,
begging for sanity?
When my thoughts take this city
in my head into villainy;
the fires all look pretty,
while they burn me out.
Can you hear me,
when I say I need you?
The darkness in the world will take us,
but I've learned to trust the mistrust;
can you wipe of the dust,
and repair all this rust?
Can you hear me?
I'm crying out to you.
Safe havens aren't easy to find
these days.
And I can't fight,
can't sleep,
can't breath,
can't speak.
Can you still hear me,
when I don't say a word?

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 01/24/14 at 08:12 PM A straight forward down to earth appeal to someone special that nicely incorporates the torments of romance and modern life. I especially like these lines: but I've learned to trust the mistrust;
can you wipe of the dust,
and repair all this rust?
