Ebb And Away by Philip F De Pinto
As the tides ebb
And away with the few tics
Remaining on the calendar
It is not too tardy
Say the sages
And better now to admit than never
That I've failed miserably at everything
In my life except loving you
And by the looks of the wine tinted bed
Whose tensile strength once managed two
To contain rain or shine
Even there even there
As is evidenced by a creature solitary
Looming toward an ebbing of his own

Posted by George Hoerner on 12/26/13 at 03:11 AM The loving of another human is not as easy a task as some people believe. Maybe if you keep at it with that one person as you have you can take it to a level unknown to most of us. For me I came close to it once or twice but something in me screws it up one way or another. I just happen to be married to someone who seems to take must of it. But as of late, she seems less willing to do that so it may be that my age is telling me it is time to leave on an earlier bus than I had intended. Really nice write Philip. |
