Slapped Happy by Dan LinnSo as we walk armed and armored through the dangers of life,
we wince, and run at the near misses of the spears of others’ fear,
broken spirits littering shard highways like broken bottles of wishes wasted,
constrained and straining against the bonds of duty,
we are chafed and tired of simply maintaining face in space.
The things we do for money wear our skin thin,
but underneath it all we use our desire like a drum to keep our souls awake. 11/15/2013 Author's Note: Slapped Happy
