For a friend

by Uriel Tovar

Oh what have you done little
Girl lost yourself in the eyes
Of another pitfall and now your
Struggling to crawl out
Can’t you see that home is
Where your heart is and
You don’t have to throw it around
Hoping someone deserving will catch it
Because it's already where it belongs.

so true Uriel and yet sometimes hearts that know in their heart of hearts where they belong, nevertheless must venture far and away from the familiar beat, so to make comparisons with other hearts in other chests, so as to know truly where they belong which hearts would not have known otherwise lest there was some other heart to compare it to. but in the meantime we wait, oftimes in despair, for the prodigal to return to its rightful place, if only to revive our pulsation for life.
