Life Haiku

by Joe Cramer

what becomes of words
gathering dust on these pages
life rearranges

in this sordid life
there are no winners, losers,
everyone must die

in gathering gloom
everything is possible
within poetry

yes, everything is possible within and without poetry, poetry composed of words, and words on whose back the dust of life has collected are still words, and luckier than most, given they don't perish with the author. albeit the dust and the authors gone to their just rewards, words can exist indefinitely and independently of their author. it is only when they are unread, by poetry lovers and such do words begin to perish from loneliness and neglect.
