Another Night of Rain by Thomas K. HuntSitting in the darkness
Trying to figure who's right
And who's wrong
Here comes the storm
Just another storm
Knowing how it feels
Spinning at our wheels
This love is gone
Yes something's wrong
When daylight comes it will be same
Another day in the pouring rain
We can't hide from this cloud
That's just not allowed
It's just another night of rain
Let it wash away my pain
Sitting in the darkness
The same old darkness
Nothing's changed
It's all arranged
Blackness fills the night
Void of any light
It's all the same
Who's to blame
Just point your finger
I'll do the same
Another day in the pouring rain
You can run but you can't hide
Look around it's on every side
We can't lose this weeping cloud
That's never, never allowed
It's just another night of rain
Wash away my pain
Sitting in this darkness
Doesn't matter who's right or who's wrong
Riding out this storm
We just sit and wonder
Listen to the thunder
It's never gone
It just hangs on
We've realized through the years
This is all too real
There's no trick with any mirrors
We know just how we feel
We'll always feel the same
It's like standing in the pouring rain
You can run but you can't hide
It surrounds you on every side
We can't hide from this cloud
Lord knows that's just not allowed
It's just another night of rain
Wash away my pain
Sitting in this darkness
Never knowing who's right or who's wrong
The truth is gone
We don't speak but we hear
Tied together by fear
That's so wrong
Yes the love has gone
You go your way
I'll go mine
When the day is done
I'm headed for the other side
I'll be searching for the sun
I'm ready to lose this cloud
I know now that I'm allowed
Time to get out of this rain
I know you'll feel the same
When its washes away your pain
It doesn't matter who's right or who's wrong
Once you realize the love is gone
It doesn't matter that we say goodbye
I hope you find your sunny sky 10/20/2013 Posted on 10/20/2013 Copyright © 2025 Thomas K. Hunt

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 10/20/13 at 12:35 PM so sad the theme, so lovely the cadence. I am one of the belief that love is never completely at an ebb, that it could flow as readily and as magically as it did before, if we who were in love would but stoke its embers, remove whatever obstacles to its impediment. |
