Tell Her You Love Her

by Jared Orlando

Tell her you love her
Amongst bated breath, of seasons cut short
Find a stolen moment, better filled with
The scents and promise of a waking dawn
Then and there must you open up your hands
A wisp of unbridled air lifting and
Tossing strands of her sun-worn hair
Tell her she is a swan kissing the shores
On a lake of glass
That she radiates like the warmth found
Only in the most calm and secluded
Forests of the Earth
May it be she who shares your
Silence as much as the chaotic
Nights leading to a climatic morn
Let a power of a woman send you
To your knees, your muscles giving out
In the pocket of the darkest night
Tell her you love her
