words by Shannon McEwenSuch power each wields
To cut through the steel
Of Even the strongest shield
Like a dagger to the heart
Dripping with ruby red blood
In whole or even in part
Just one can cause fear
Hope, anger, joy or love
Can make muddy or clear
When flesh melts away
And bones turn to ash
Etched in lines they stay
Oft reason, even rhyme
Every single one uttered
Will echo through time
But with rule comes duty
Truth is not always kind
An oddly sinister beauty
