Sitting in the dark
With the fork and the spoon
Silently contemplating
If the man in the moon

Will be back soon
To take away the dark
Ignite this spark
And dance with the cow
Until he inevitably throws a lark

From left to right
And then from right to left
Mother goose shines the light

And the whole damn book
Reveals it was all just a tale
A cheesy pick up line to sell

And now she thinks
She’s off the hook
I sit in the dark and wonder
Was this all it took?
