Delicious nothing is what I seek
From the chaos so neatly
Trapped between
The ongoing debate
Am I strong or am I weak?
Between here and now I confide

Simple stillness would be sweet
Except the thump, thump,
Rhythmic thumping as
In perfect tandem
Our hearts beat

And our laughter seeks
The highest seat
Where my life is the pawn
And your love is the trump
In a world only ever concerned
With the here and with the now

Without the constant worry
Finally lacking the panic
And the courage to release
The obsessive need
To know everything about
The where, when, what or how

Where the clouds
Nourished the soul before
They dried up the rain
Along with the tears
Leaving my mind fresh
And delightfully clear

And when this blessed thing
Sought is finally found
Release the chaos
Shake off the debris
Before you and I can agree

Sensual words whispered
From your lips to my ear
The only sound left to hear
Except the soft clicking
Closing door
Of every unwelcome fear
