Am I Looking at Eternity

by Thomas K. Hunt

Am I looking at eternity?
Is this for all time?
Lately my body
Can't keep up with my mind
That's not the way it used to be
Something's grabbed a hold of me
Shine your light so I can see
Am I looking at eternity?

Shine your light
Lighten up the sign
Can you tell me
Is this for all time?
I'll work on the body
Make it one with the mind
I'll start right now
If there's still time
I've got everything to lose
I've got everything to choose
It's all laid out for me
If this is heaven
Am I looking at eternity?

Take my hand, come along with me
I'll make it worth our while
Let's go half way back to where we used to be
Lets enjoying every mile
Lets go back to where we've been
I want to do it all over again
I might up and change a thing or two
There's only one thing that still holds true
I'd do it all again with no one but you

We may use our lost and found
Make no mistakes this time round
We met our mistakes
We only saw them once
Wet met them face to face
Never in a bunch
Now that they're all history
Please enjoy your future with me
We'll share this garden we both grew
Marvel at every sprout that's new
Reap what we have sowed
Root our seeds in fields we've mowed
Help them grow with the proper feed
Heal their wounds when they bleed
They're all with us through eternity
It's all meant to be
We've learned from our past
We had to learn real fast
There's no secret to make this last
There's just one question to ask
It's all laid for me
If this is heaven
Am I looking at eternity?

beautiful, these words strike a chord in every man who has ever loved, and knows what it is like to lose and recapture paradise and if one is fortunate enough to reconstitute the latter, what more is there to gather in this world, other than love, which ultimately is the only thing that matters.
