Ode To Getting Down

by Philip F De Pinto

providence
is at the heart
of sheer happenstance

hence: achievement's most acute bliss
is not standing top this
or other listless apogee
but knowing where I stand with you

above and beyond the sheer archaeology
which possesses one to peel article upon
article of clothing that he may descend down

to your sheer essence and in a sense
dig you until your body becomes not trap
but living map in which fingers may flow
make frequent pilgrimage to your core

and mine quill
devoutly wishing
to be immersed
in your living verse
and given providence
is at the heart of sheer happenstance
hence: a spade need not rehearse
arrived upon its initial digging
unto such a scene
as finds a heart;
yours still beating
concurrent with mine

hearts: which were old hats
at beating back
uncertainty
and a door or eye
need not rehearse
before their initial opening
unto such a scene
as finds us
peeling article upon article
of clothing
that we may descend down
to our sheer essence
that we may dig
until our body becomes not trap
but living map
for fingers to flow
make frequent pilgrimage
to our core

Ah Philip - only you could get down with such eloquence seasoning the nuts and bolts. Yummy

You have a way of writing words of explicitness which bring them to purity. Whoever is the recpient of your love should feel themselves lucky and I hope they are deservant. (is that a word?)
