Indestructible Glass by Danny WashingtonSometimes I think I should be kept
Behind a sheet of indestructible glass
People with clipboards taking notes
He almost looks human, maybe there's hope
The sweat pours even when he's still
You can smell his body odor from here
He's frantic and twitchy and avoids our gaze
He goes from happy to sad in a matter of days
He has strange ideas, outdated and queer
Hippis have been a joke for 50-odd years
Those no good do-gooders can't understand
Love just simply isn't part of our plan
He likes everything different, pretensious as can be
He seems to think he's much better than me
He uses funny words, and changes his speech
Depending on the class of people he meets
Sometimes I think I should be kept
Behind a sheet of indestructible glass
My darkest secret, from which I hide
Is that I'm the only one on the other side 04/25/2013 Posted on 04/26/2013 Copyright © 2024 Danny Washington
