The pile of wrapping paper
And bits of tape
Stuck to everything

And the sleepy children
Gone from hyper overdrive
To downward spiral

With candy coated smiles
And after turkey groans
Amidst the twinkling lights

All the presents opened
And cups of cheer drained
Before finally, sweet silence

Rosy cheeks seek rest
Sweetly sung carols slowly dim
And another year is done
