Hi Gail

by Uriel Tovar

A smile
More contagious than the flu
On a subway
Having the same effect
As a bullet to the heart
Rendering the soul
To the same consistancy of a wet tissue
Can end potential wars
And nuclear holocaust
And yet
Only taking 17 muscles
Can be the hardest thing to muster.

The weight of a daily grind too often seems to atrophy those 17 muscles; to the point where it takes a little courage to smile at familiar faces, let alone strangers. Consider your words heard, acknowledged and understood.

So easy to do, and yet I too have learned that many are unwilling to give one. Worthy poetic film clip.
