forever after

by Philip F De Pinto

seriously friend!
don't judge a thief
too harshly - lest
he come in the night
to steal your bride or your life
or your heart or all three

this thief whose love life
was on the wane - who needed
a replacement which was your heart
who was your bride who was your life
who comes in the night
to steal the triad - and

seriously friend!
don't judge a thief
too harshly or too hastily - lest
you discover he and two
of the three he stole from you
lived happily ever after

One is a thief if he steels your car. If he "steels" your loved one they were not yours to "own". I loved a woman once whose husband believed she oas his, he owned her. Ownership does not extend to my loved ones and if they choose to go then, though I may die from heart ache, I wish them well and give them a river of tears on which to sail away.
