Inauguration by Joan Serratelli
Sitting here
Bored
exercised
nothing to do
maybe I’ll go out
later
my chystal ball
is in the shop
cannot tell future without
but like every other writer
I want to turn to the last page
and see how
“The Story Of Me”
ends
In the background;
I can hear our President
He has Just been sworn in
For once;
the American people
voted properly
and the “right”
(well, a little
to the left)
man won
This man has fought
and survived personal
uncalled for; way below the belt
attacks
Aldous Huxley
borrowed a passage from Shakespere
“O Brave New World;
doth has such people in it”
President Ombama
is one of these people
A short speech
he does not mince
words
He started off
with
“We, hold these truths….”
G-d bless him

Author's Note: I cannot lie- I misquoted President Obama....so I edited it.

| Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 01/21/13 at 06:33 PM I just finished watching the inauguration, Joan. I always love the ceremony and dignity of it, all of those people of govt. coming together, and seeing the sea of people out beyond, and me a tiny speck watching a tiny screen out west makes me feel like I belong to something bigger and worth being a part of. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. |
| Posted by George Hoerner on 01/21/13 at 08:15 PM I am also glad he got a second term, not that the right, right wing will let anything through that is positive but we'll see. All I can say is that if we really need a police officer in evrey school then we probably need one on every street corner of every city in this country! |
