it is not difficult to imagine
how the leaf the cat paw
a young boy's bicycle tire
and even a bold and brash signature came to be
imprinted in thee - for you were newly poured then
as fresh as any virgin or nascent scene
and as with all things instinctively drawn to such
had come to make lasting impressions
before you became all too set like cement
and all too impossible to print - and it is
not difficult now to imagine how such prints
would become your first crushes - unforgettable
ever to endure the horde's stampede
for naught to impress upon thee
as have these
your very first
which are wounds
suffered young
ne'er to
scab or heal
