Losing One's Virginity

by Philip F De Pinto

Do all tears taste the same?
I wondered while I parched in the desert?

Who was as yet a virgin to such.
Never having shed tears before.

Do all tears taste the same?
Those wept of joy - those wept of sadness

And those wept of the crocodile?

I wondered no more as the cherry broke - finally!
I wondered no more for alas - I have tasted the triad

And can say for certain that there is a distinction twixt the three
And can say for certain that despite their distinction

They all sate the same
To a man parching in the desert

Who tasted his own tears for the first time.
Of sadness of joy and those wept of the crocodile

Difficult topic on which to write. Great job.
