moment to moment

hush now and listen
to yourself or don't hush
now or ever and listen to me
for a change
of venue or scenery
when you inquire within
where have I been?
you never think to ask what
I've been thinking
while I've been gone
stowed away somewhere;
do not presume it was for safekeeping
and I would tell you
that while I was away
moment to moment
did not transition well
given they are doors to cells
windows barred to the public
which do not open by themselves
having knobs which you must
turn moment to moment
or bowl them over
lest you sneak in a saw
