If I were the Moon

by Kerowyn Rose

If I were the moon
pulling ripples
along the water,
whispering to corn stalks,
and revelling in the poems
written for and about me;
I would pause to peer
into that one window
in your house
that has the lights on –
drapes open,
and watch you undress.
I would wait until
your head hits the pillow
and your breath
becomes even, then slip
into your dreams
where I would push
the hair back
from your face, then
give you gentle kisses until
the sun relights the sky.

"pulling ripples along the water" is such a great phrase. This moon, with your guidance, makes for a fabulous dream time.

Excellent imagery, I was a ripple along the water reading this.
