you're a gun
and love's no fun
when it's finger
ain't pressing on your
trigger
you're a gun
so full of ammo
which ain't doing you no good
the roughage of which you can't digest
but you need love's finger
to squeeze that ammo
which is giving you a belly ache
into a target which was not moving
necessarily - which has the hunger
for such ammo as it can ingest
and is better equipped to digest and eliminate
what is deep and pointed and yearning
inside of you
save love won't squeeze
the trigger
though you have been aiming
at targets all your life
cause you're a gun
and love's no fun
when it ain't got its finger
pressing on your trigger
