light of certainty
what is your feeling
about shadows of doubt kneeling
in church
in your stead
while the well fed
religion which hasn't a clew
bowing its head in its pew
organized
desperate search
parties
for the likes of one
presumed lost
and absconded with the poor box
and the ping
and the knock
on him all his life
was that he would
the son of a bitch
would
that his appetites were so abundantly rich
he could not help but abscond with such a box
as makes religion less fed
which hasn't a clew
bowing its head in the pew
organizing
desperate search parties
for the likes of one
presumed lost
and absconded with the poor box
light of certainty
if there were no such box around
would the poor conceive
of their poverty?
that is why
I absconded with the box
and vamoosed it out the back door
for no other reason
light of certainly
not to fatten my tillers
