impossible san francisco

by Cassandra Leigh

it was a stroke of
unadulterated
fortune, your easy gait carried you
into my life with
the coming of autumn:
matter-of-factly.

and with two bottles of
wine, an old couch and
many, many words,
we made Tuesday our own:
it was so easy
for you, as for children, answers
interrupt only more
questions.

the world seems a much
smaller place if I look through
your eyes, the day begins
at sundown, we young and
wild are not quite
innocent as crowds
part and cities bow
before our light.

Very well expressed Cassandra! Really like how you take something very personal, and make it more worldly at the end. A feeling I've happily known more than once in my lifetime. Thanks for the reminder. :o)
