Kitchen Griddles

by Kristina Woodhill

Upside down
she bled brown

firm sleek form
upside down

headstand gal
a sweet pal

always there
manly square

he for her
laid out bare

he loved her
she loved him

their love strong
perfect pair

pattern devoted
crisscrossed
with his love
his x's of love
for his
upside down gal

he caught
her
every
dropping
sopped
up
with his sobbing

sensed her end
he could see
by her slight tip
her wobbling

a matter of time
on this
cold
granite slab

this great
love affair
dabbed a
sweet
farewell dab

on the shelf
smiling slightly
upright gal
home from shopping
her full figure
firm in its brown
sweet allure

I love how the tenderness escapes through the form here, in small sips like how you savor hot choco..
