there are two ways
to look at the sun
as look at a woman's behind
one will blind you
so will the other
and so brother
it is given a blind man
that he shall fall in love
on first touch
in the meanwhile
shut up and listen to yourself
the universe is a blind hen
laying ovules of stars
night after night
hatching light
light intended for the likes of Homer Milton Stevie Wonder and now yourself
such wonder filled beams as are accursed to fly at such speed
as irises cannot contain in their nets nor refrain
such inexorable speed
as they cannot pause to contemplate
and smell the java
