Imperfect Bay

by Philip F De Pinto

What you saw in me
Was a hairy beast
To render clean shaven
What you saw in me
Was something rue to gladden
Something to alter from its blue fixation
A crumpled prayer to stuff in the cracked jaw of a wailing wall
A prayer one could not whisper in the light of day or night
One day I pray to tag that prayer to a kite's tail
Which will whisper us in divination's light

What I saw in you was unalterable perfection
The perfect flight of you
Soul of you
Heart of you
Spirit of you
Encouragement of you
Sweet endearing voice of you

Add to these
The perfect intelligence
And perfect gap in the teeth of you
And lastly but not least
The perfect joie de vivre of you
That latter I will cherish and miss and prize most of all
And the perfect jades in your eyes
That lay in wait
To ambush mine imperfect bay

*Stellar* We miss the ones we love so much but it helps to remind ourselves where they are now and they are no longer broken and suffering, as they are restored to perfection.

this is pure philian in its flight and so tender thoughtful it's so lovely to know men like you still exist.

Ain't nothing wrong with a hairy beast on the condition he writes like you, Pinto.
