chasing time

by Charlie Morgan

my lunch waits for me; until i show,
it lies dormant, un-changed. hah!

i've got control in my world, hah!
so don't tamper with me. be full of care.

it's a fools dance you enter when, upon you
the foot-race time has chosen is exacted;

you will tire, early; and your last
vision is just the dust and heels;

the day is yours, i'm included.
there you go; here i am.

I love this one but do feel it could benefit much from more detailed puncgtuation, the lines are arrhythmic, irregular, which I know is deliberate and good, but could not figure out how to read it until many reads, and then still not positive

Charlie- do you ever stop to take a breath? You write with such spirit and death- another gem

I like the poetic playfulness, yet serious also sides of this, Charlie. And as you've so eloquently pointed out, Time is always the Overloard.
