Release

by June Labyzon

He said, "You are the lint on my coat."
I said, "I'd rather be the lining to keep
you warm during the winter freeze."
Nature impishly hides itself
in its inherent nature.
Like lizards on a green leaf,
who can tell where one begins
and the other ends.
I imagine it’s the same with the lint
and the lining.
I’d strive to understand
if I could, but
it would wreck the magic.
Still I'm not good at following
without questioning.
I am conscious of the lines
between the thoughts
pressed in the time-release
capsules of words depressed.
I suppose to think as a lover
one must release the curiosity
be satisfied to be the lint
just feel
the coming.

first off, this is a remarkable ode. second offly, June, I think you have happened upon the formula via which to succeed at love, just let it be, don't think, just feel your way, and that has always been the way with love and the way with poetry. Thinking is anathema to love, and poetry, so Louku has always proposed. Don't think, Just feel, just let it be. When you are on a wild ride as love and poetry, it behooves us to think. Let love and poetry lead us where they will and leave the thinking to those who never had any need for either, who would split their atom, so as to release and annihilate their mystery.
