Winter Blossom

by Alison McKenzie

I try to sleep
As your sun rises
On an unexpected horizon.

You are a wondrous impossibility -
Floating silk on
Gravity's defiant breeze.

You are ten thousand
Diamond facets
Dancing in a pool of ink
That spill to pen -
A most luminous manifesto.

You are an alphabet
Every expression enriched
By the affection of your smile.

Your laughter crescendos,
A roaring river
To crystalline oceans -
A private serenade
In a life gone void of song.

You are nine million
Points of light
On the back of eyelids
Closed on account of floods.

I spy a sacred tomorrow
Lit by countless candles
Of your unexpected joy.

I love being in the same room as you when your mind goes here.

I'm swooning. Pure poetry.

I'm in love with the hope in this poem, so uniquely penned.
