Almost Silenced by Joe CramerInstead of better, it gets worse.
No longer are you around
even the text messages have dwindled
down to nothing
down to nothing.
The angst grows,
and it shows.
I try in so many ways
to be part of your life,
but when it takes three months
for you to get together with me
to give you Christmas presents
that hurts,
it just hurts.
So I go on with my life,
go on living forward
despite the strife
and still call you,
leaving unanswered messages
and futile texts.

Posted by Rhiannon Jones on 11/04/12 at 11:29 PM I like that this is so direct, raw, un- embellished...it describes what several dads I know are experiencing. Eventually, though, teens grow up and move out from under mothers' direct influence...and things can get better then. |
