Dark blue the Moon

by Keith D Allison

There's an emptiness
No starlight to find
Places to go
to many miles
no cash to buy

Dreams of long ago
flutter by
no water
the seasons are dry

Once again
no harvest
there's an emptiness
will the clock
feel the breath
of the moon again

For the passion
goes with the energy flows
the joy follows the sound
of the bells

I sense kind of a reflection here on the great drought, parts of Canada and the US experienced this past summer. To me the first three stanzas are the poem. The fourth takes it in a different direction, worth expanding on at a later date or a whole new poem...a new series! I often write this way too. We never know what we're going to end up with until we write 'it' out.
