Alarm Failure

by Johnny Crimson

You can throw a piercing glance,
catch attention in your hands.
You can draw a dotted line,
someone will continue it.

You can sing your favorite song
all of us will sing along.
Without words we'll sing along.

You can ride the ferris wheel,
tell the people how it feels.
You can buy that cotton stick,
bet you'll start a riot.

You can walk right past my tomb,
it's really just up to you.
Yeah, tell me what you want to do.

You can catch the moon tonight
wrap it up, yeah paper's fine.
You can show it to the town,
watch em' all go blind.

You can drive my favorite car.
Driving me to any place.
Yeah, you can take me any place.

The crytal ships
pretend to sink,
while drifting off
into my dreams...

You can tell me what you think,
I won't even try to blink.
You can kiss me in the woods,
right after it rains.

I'll just take my sleeping pills
and pretend that all of this was real.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that this was real...

Well JC it sure looks real to me. But then I've been committed before so I've lost that touch one is supposed to have. Good write.

*stellar* (and very heart felt) (noticed 1 typo 1st line:piercing)

It's like an experiment, where one writes down a snippet from a different dream every morning upon waking. I also enjoy the direction of the action toward the reader. Well done.

This is the first piece of writing I've read in months and it was a brilliant piece.

nice ... it has a Bob Dylan flow to it; would sound great on guitar

It absolutely could be a folk song- the anthme of a generation- loved the flow. A hell of a dream!

Fun read. I actually sang this in my head as oppossed to just reading it. Reminds me of Blink 182, one of my favorite Grunge bands...similar themes, and that's a good thing.

Like a carousel in breakdown, this is glorious and aching and you can't take your eyes off of the painted tigers being trod upon by garish unicorns.
