Invisible Trees

by Mark Stone

We walk among the invisible trees
Fallen leaves
Like little sacrifices beneath our wounded feet

Don’t grieve for their loss
There are forests still unknown to you

The winter remembers all its spring leaves
Though the earth is cold now
Soon tiny green fingers
Will trace their words upon a newer sky

As a life long lover of trees, I really enjoyed reading this piece, Mark. Thanks for sharing it. Excellent combination of nature and humanity. And the profound statement in that last stanza leaves one gasping for CO2.

Nice write Mark. Trees somehow seem to mark our live's in one way or another.

I think it requires more finesse to express hope through a poem, and this expresses it quite skillfully.

I always think of things like this, I personify alot, so I especially enjoy this.
