Lights Out by Jody PrattEvery candle flicker flicked
every switch as if to say
every battery is drained
every moment now enduring.
Every person pleads on knees
every need is just the same
every human being
every chance they go insane.
Every second seems to last
every minute past the next
every time the hand rests
every hour just resets.
Every pressure building
every precious part of
every parting limb and
every breaking heart. 09/24/2012 Posted on 09/24/2012 Copyright © 2024 Jody Pratt

Posted by George Hoerner on 09/25/12 at 12:47 PM I do tend to agree that humans across the board are pretty much alike. I feel sorry the most for those who must look every day for food, shelter, and a place to feel safe. Nice write. |
