15 Questions

by Christel Crews

What must I do to see this thing through
to see it end
for it to begin

What must I do to not hurt you
for the inevitable to not appear
like the predictable sunrise

What must I do to find the one thing I lack
happiness
Is it a myth

What must I do to not be eaten by guilt
because the teachings I adhere to say
one thing, can I disagree

What must I do to work up the courage
that no matter the outcome,
is this the right choice

What must I do to make the decision
between
familiar comfortable sadness
and
chance, unpredictability, unknown

What must I do to leave all I know
for a fresh start
can I overcome the fear

What must I do to find the truth
in the midst of
personal opinions, emotions, and chaos

Excellent use of repetition Cristel to deliver the message. A unique expression of soul searching, that I'm sure we all can relate to in our way. I know I can.

Intensely ruminative and honest, Christel... And I hope the questions find the answers you seek
