Picture books vs. Novels by Carolyn Coville"He's a novel," my best friend described you, and she couldn't have been more correct.
You're the one I want to crawl into bed with and spend hours reading.
I want to take my time with you,
and explore how each chapter of your life contributes to your overall story.
There will be some characters in your life I despise, and some others I will adore,
and they will all have some meaningful contribution.
There will be times when I cry, but there will be so many more laughs and smiles.
You'll get better with time,
and just when I think I have you figured out,
you'll surprise me.
I won't want to put you down,
and I definitely won't want to place you on the shelf with the others I've already read. 08/12/2012 Author's Note: Kudos to my friend Laura for the inspiration from her comparison of how some men are like picture books (nice to look at and have short-term flings with), whereas others are more like novels. I'm sure the same thought could be applied to women.
