and if the world ends in rain

by Peter Hsu

and if the world ends in rain
i'll commit my blue soul to the water
and sink down
down through the sediment of memory
to search for you in the ghost of summer
so i might hold you once again
in the slowly breaking heart of the world
at the bottom of the sea

Gotta love the punch in those last two lines. Outstanding work.

Loved this - I can feel the sinking - really liked "the sediment of memory". Thanks for this.
