Her Face at Night

by Magnolia Moonpie

She breathes out
as I breathe in
and so the
ecstasy begins.

I always know
just when she will
gaze into me
so white and still.

The night is large
and full of sound-
sleeping birds
are all nest bound.

Her face is pocked
and marked for grief,
yet lovelier when
she shines through leaf.

And in her light
I cast no shade
and of her view
my poem's made.

Author's Note: I loved the moon before I even loved you, dear one. I think you will forgive me this.

Is this you, Shadoe?!?
The second line of that last stanza reminds me of an intimate line from a gal I know about a "Shade". Anyway, I loved this!Even if it's not ( :-() my Shadoe that wrote it...
