But I always knew you.... by Lori BlairRemain here, now,
Truelove with you I've held so dear
You've always been nearer than ever you've known
as always we had hoped
Within your heart
I'd seek a forever of truths
just as that same day was a day well spent
even without you near me then
Forever you, and I,
Cuz I could never forget all we are now
Nor all we were then, so how can we now, how?
I can't forget those dreams we do still hold
and I know you won't forget them too
A love is a love that extends
all space, and time, forever undone
like that long unsung song I now forever will sing to you!
But should heaven part
and all means to communicate gone
You'd still know this heart beats further every day
but with nothing changed that
I'd ever dreamed enough
and I know now no one is you
and no one can ever be you, forever, true
though alone without you
I knew, I always knew
Forever you, and I,
Cuz I could never forget all we are now
Nor all we were, then, so how can we now, how?
I can't forget those dreams we do still hold
and I know you won't forget them too
A love is a love that extends
all space, and time, forever undone
like that long unsung song I now forever will sing to you!
Now my soul still hurts now
cuz you are not here with me now
On borrowed time with hope through these years
all these years without you here
When forever I'd been here though you don't know
and you left me alone again
without an answer to why you are not here
those years so alone without sun or moon
Just been so alone with song
and a wrong path laid that shows me
you won't be here in years
and I fear it's forever or so it seems
But,
Forever you, and I,
Cuz I could never forget all we are now
Nor all we were then, so how can we now, but how?
I can't forget those dreams we do still hold
and I know you won't forget them too
A love is a love that extends
all space, and time, forever undone
like that long unsung song I now forever will sing to you!
But now my soul hurts, true
cuz you are not here with me now
On borrowed time with hope through those years
all those years without you here
alone now without you here too
When forever I'd been here though you don't know
and you left me alone, again
without an answer to why you are not here
those years so alone without sun or moon
but still forever I knew
it's been forever always you and I!
but there is a new moon on the rise?
Won't you find it suffice?
Please just, try, just once more, one more time?
Please just try one more time?

Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 05/19/12 at 12:30 AM I have fell this and it was undoubtedly the feeling of exile--that sensation of a void within which never left us, that irrational longing to sneak back to the past or else to speed up the march of time, and those keen shafts of memory that warmed as embers and stung like fire. Nice write. Missing you. Thanks.
