I've Got Your Back; I've Got You Covered

by Jersey D Gibson

Troubled but assured
you are not walking alone
someone there is watching, waiting.

Your tred is your own
mine is right next to yours
though I'm not even beside you.

Gone through all this
without someone by your side
but just know that I've got your back.

When things get too tough
and the chips are all down
give me a call and I'll be there.

It isn't too much trouble
It doesn't take up my time
I just want you to know I've got your back.

Someone is watching over you
Know that I'm by your side
I just want you to know I've got you covered.

You've walked for so long
and you walked by your lonesome
don't you fret, I was right there.

It might have been dark
but I left on a light
I wanted to make sure you found your way.

I'm right by your side
by the sun or the moon
I didn't want to walk anywhere else but with you.

Even though it was time to head back
time to call it a day
I stayed that extra minute for you.

It isn't too much trouble
It doesn't take up my time
I just want you to know I've got your back.

Someone is watching over you
Know that I'm by your side
I just want you to know I've got you covered.

There's no reason to be afraid.
There's no reason to go and hide.
Someone is out there, watching for you.
Someone to help you be alive...

It isn't too much trouble
It doesn't take up my time
I just want you to know I've got your back.

Someone is watching over you
Know that I'm by your side
I just want you to know I've got you covered.

Author's Note: Came up with this watching over my guys as they crawled up and down a hill. But this is meant for someone else. You know who you are.

Excellent expression of support Jersey. It's always good to have a poet "embedded" on the battlefield.
