Inspiration by Marc ArntsInspiration
Noun
From the Latin
To breath in
I suck hard
At February air
The piercing wind
Takes breath away
My parka pulled tight
To keep cold at bay
***
We snow shoe
Out to camp
The spruce boughs sag
Laden with snow
As we make our way
Up the trail
The dog rolls
In powdered snow
Thinly layered over
Hardened crust
***
We made our way
Through the woods
I’m out of shape
Unable to keep up
My breathing labored
By my forward push
Inspiration
Expiration
Another step
Towards my goal

| Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 11/02/14 at 11:57 AM I love this ode in the absolute. I am surprised no one has commented on this poem before. It is splendidly subtle and alive and a Fave. Love the image of the dog rolling in powdered snow. |
