Storyland Revisited

by Joan Serratelli

He lived his whole
life as a parasite
a person living off
the misery of other
people

An ugly little man
I have been told
he lived his life
as a preditor
albeit;
a scavenger
a creature
devoid
of emotion
feeding off
the tradgedy
of people
he deemed
helpless
....UNTIL...
He ran into
her

She was far
brighter
than he

and she was anything
but helpless
there were times
when
she was
a bit emotionally
needy

But isn't everybody
No person
is an island
and he swooped in
and intruded
upon her life

When she got better
he refused to leave
citing that she may
not know it
but she needed him
she didn't
and felt that
he should
respect her
wishes and leave

But he wouldn't leave
he needed to control her
He demanded respect
and got none
he did not understand
that respect
is something
earned
He tried time
after time
and she ended
up resenting
her captor
He critisised
her way of doing
things
and constantly
threatered her
life

"Fate will take me;
not the likes of you"

"I have made it this far
If I am fated
to be taken by you
...so be it"

I am tired of your
idle threats

I am not your typical
damsel in distress

If I am to die
I will face the end
as I tried to live my life
with dignity

I will not beg for my life
I will not give in''I should be nervous-

He wanted her
she did not want him
it was the only thing
that would save her life

He was a narcinestic
socialpath
He did not care
if I love him
or not.

He wanted to marry her;
a woman who loothed him
A married woman
and take her
to a house
and chain her up

In a word
"NO"
There will
be no marriage

Instead; there
would be a death

He resented his lack
of authority over
my life

He wanted to control her
to reel he in
as if she were a piece
of meat

r She was a human being
flesh and bone

When she bleed
She bleed real blood

He could not
have her

Ifshe gave him an inch
he took a mile

He had no heart, no soul
He was running
on empty
His only joy
in life
was watching
her sweat

Waiting for death
Everyone does it
differently

She would prefer to sit
and write

...and know that
she did not give in
to a man who made
a grave error~
He ran into her

She feel like
She was living
in Storyland
....
with no way out

I like how you are developing a story-telling style.
