“It can happen anywhere.” by Rob LittlerNews reports wake the day
To sirens wailing, the clang
Of real happening everywhere
Inside and out—the Anchors
Saying it a thousand times
One way, but new knowing
News is always breaking
For the uniformed.
Tapping in, then
Tapping out. I hear what sounds
Like new 911 calls. But they are
Like all the others. I imagine
Someone in a family somewhere
Else, getting up and getting dressed,
To be some place certain. I have seen
That quaking. Their sadness and trembling—
These tragedies are becoming natural to living.
