erased by opposites

by Matthew Sharp

ive had my feet stuck in a mountain
my heart in the swamp
my home a stopping point
a stop sign covered by the vines of neglect
grown over for the best

tend your yield in appreciation
for where it came
garner no name
thoughts come and go
written deep into the notepad

erased by opposites in search of freedom
we heed our desires defining
the need that burns in our hearts
to be like the icon
that beckons
participation and accept
void of love
