Light Switch by Jody PrattYou were never born, but plucked
from a distant Universe of which
beauty knows no boundaries
flowing freely in and out of you
like a breath of fresh air.
You move right through me and
all my dreams come true;
all my worries disappear.
Seeing you smile is like observing God
flick on the stars for the first time.
Watching your eyes look back upon me;
I am paralyzed by these two heavens
embodied within a deserving angel.
The words from your lips
play me like music notes
bouncing on the strings
that meld music and love,
crafting us into a song;
urging us to dance until
God flicks out the lights.
Even then we will dance
on the unlit clouds of space.
You will smile, gazing back
and spill heavens upon me. 02/15/2012
Author's Note: My girlfriend asked me to write her a poem last night.

Posted by Elizabeth Jill on 02/23/12 at 01:59 AM It is impossible to read this and not feel everything inside. How tender and genuine.
"The words from your lips
play me like music notes
bouncing on the strings[...]"
that's the way this poem comes across, too.
So glad to find this! - Jill |
