DBS And Other Fun ~ Part 1 by Joan Serratelli
Poem To make a long story short:
my pacemaker (in my brain)
needed a new battery no big deal
Out-patient surgery
a piece of cake
After Brain surgery
DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation)
it was like taking
a day trip to Philadelpia
Things went according to plan
I was in and out
in one day
That was May
about 2 months later,
my daughter looked at me
and told me that the wound was open.
She could actually see the pacemaker
Called the surgeon
He said it was rare,
but since I'm so thin....
Another surgery had to be done
It was the omen of things
yet to be
